Thanks for the feedback -- I'll pass it forward!

One trick though that I like to use to get to Settings > Player > Audio faster is to hit the 3 dots on the player (in the player drawer) and go to Audio Settings:

If you have a non-2i player, instead of the 3-dots, it would just be the Audio settings shortcut.

For listening at low levels, IMHO the Bass/Treble are of no good use since they do not respond to the current level.
For that purpose, a "Loudness" function would be the better approach.

    Hi Franz,

I completely agree with you but:
-Loudness has become a bad word in the hifi world!
-Loudness function has disappeared from preamplifiers or integrated amplifiers (perhaps yamaha a-s* or marantz PM-6006 - the PM-6007 no longer has it, or some high-end amplifiers like Accuphase-out of budget, or vintage!). Otherwise you have to see the "studio" world: for example the RME ADI-2 products.
    - it does not make sense to integrate a loudness on the node 2i since, from what I understood, a loudness adjusts the bass treble level according to the output sound level of the speakers.

But, why not on the powernode?

Bass/treble or an equalizer is already the beginning of an answer if you listen to constant sound volume (but it's not perfect!)

    Regards,

You're right, there are better methods nowadays. However, the basic idea of a Loudness function seems right to me. Yamaha once hat a special concept with a variable Loudness pot.

My NAD even does not have a Loudness function and I don't use the Bass/Treble either since I love it "straight" ;-)

Our good friends at NAD Electronics prefers the term 'neutral'

I might add to this that it would be helpful to display the settings, right now only a blue bar is shown and one needs to guess the number or touch and move the bar to get a reading.

I also noticed the moment the tone control is enabled, the volume drops. Could it be the 6 dB is first taken away and we can now max add 6 dB to bass and treble, to avoid clipping?

Yes correct, the 6db drop in volume is so you can adjust bass and treble. There is a little note on this support page…

IMHO, the 6dB drop is a very bad idea. It's not needed, not user friendly nor is it what a user expects and what comes close to the user experience over decades of Hi-Fi equipment.

Well ... that depends. If you have your Node at max volume, to have the maximum digital resolution available, assuming the Node volume control operates in the digital domain and you control the final volume in the analog domain on your amplifier, then adding a couple of dB could cause digital clipping.

Well, yes, to keep max resolution and S/N, you're right. However, there may be different and maybe better approaches.

    Hi all,

As mentioned on other posts, more/better EQ options would be highly (highly) appreciated by the vast majority of Bluesound users who have selected Bluesound gears for the Hi-fi/Better than Sonos approach.

Hoping it should be doable at a relatively limited cost and will be considered at some point
