    Hello Phillippe,

Controlling the POWERNODE would need to be done via the app and would as such require internet access.

You can try the Bluetooth connection, though if it is not set to automatically switch to the source you won't be able to manually switch without WiFi (plus volume control would need to be done on the phone's volume). It may also timeout.

    Regards,
    Sam R.

    Hello Philippe,

As a Smart Home Audio System, the player is designed to be used on a network.

    Hi Philippe,

@Sam, sorry to correct you, but it‘s not true there is a need of a internet connection!

But there is the need for a working network and if not changed there must be a DHCP server in the network so the Players get a network adress. I am pretty shure here got something broken.

What does „went wrong in the street Box“ mean?

Do you mean a connection box outside your house or is this a certain kind of router which handles your WiFi and network?

If the first, your Router and maybe WiFi and network should still work. If the second one or because of the issue outside maybe your router got broken. So do you still have WiFi, can you find your WiFi SSID with a mobile device?

If not, your Router got broken and that‘s the issue.

By the street box, i meant the outdoor distribution box for the Different houses of my neibourghood. My computer still sees the network but with no internet access off course.

But blueos App can t see the powernode .

The computer is connected by cable to the LAN or WiFi?
Does the computer use a fixed ip adress? Or DHCP?

I would expect the mobile device and the PowerNode to use DHCP.

Do you know how to scan a network for other devices from your computer?

    Hi Stefan

Though it can be used without Internet access - our system really should have Internet due to timing and clock issues. The lack of an Internet gateway can create interesting results.

Philippe Madec - I would recommend resetting your network to clear the network device table of your router.

    • Please power down your players and any other network-attached devices. (Laptops, tablets, and smartphones you can simply put in Airplane Mode).
    • Unplug your router for 30 seconds then plug it back in
    • Wait 5 minutes
    • Start powering up all your Players and network devices.
    • Reconnect your tablets and laptops
    • Relaunch the app

This will reset your network router's cached addresses. Setting a DHCP reservation for devices will help.

Home network best practices with all IoT devices (not just us) suggest you should probably do this periodically. If you have more than 10-15 devices on your network (BluOS Players, Tablets, Smart TVs, Thermostats... it adds up).

If the problem persists, however, can you please e-mail us at support@bluesound.com and notify us of the make, model, and operating system version of your smart device. This can be located by going to Settings > About on most phones or tablets. Also, do you have a wireless extender or bridge the Player is connected to? If so please let me know the make and model of that along with the make and model of your router.

If you do have a wireless extender, if you place your phone or tablet in Airplane mode and walk close to the main router, when by the main router, you take the device out of Airplane mode and relaunch the App, are the players found?
