Headphone output and dac in Node 2i and pulse flex 2i

Is the dac and headphone output the same in the Pulse flex 2i and the node 2i the same? I'm considering the Pulse flex 2i for portable use and the buying decision would be easier if the headphone section/sound is the same as the Node 2i.

  Hello Bradly, 

  The Headphone Out is processed by the same DAC as the Speaker out is on the FLEX, and both the NODE 2i and FLEX 2i use the same Burr Brown DAC. You may find that the headphone output is quieter in nature though. 

  Functionally, there are a few differences. The Headphone OUT does not support Left/Right/Mono separation, for example. Specifically on the NODE (not specific to your case but for the sake of an example), Fixed Output is disabled (for the safety of your ears).
