Tidal connect very slow on selecting or skipping tracks on node2i
AnsweredHi There,
I just bought bluesound node 2i and connected them to my kef ls50w via analog.
My issue is, when i use tidal connect and select node 2i, it takes around 15-20 seconds to load a song. When the track finishes and it skips to another track there are no delays, it works seamlessly. However if i skip to next song without letting it finish or try to load another track via search, it again takes 15-20 seconds.
I tried changing the dns settings to 8.8.8.8 and 1.1.1.1, restarted my router and node 2i, without any fix. It works without any issue on Spotify connect, this issue only occurs on Tidal connect. Any help is much appreciated.
P.S : Also the tidal app works slow on tidal connect as its time tracker does not change every second, it changes every five seconds like 1:08 to 1:13 to 1:18 etc.

Hi Hakan
Please select Help, Send Support Request in the App so our Support Crew can review the event log and take a closer look

Hi,
I already did that a few hours a go and i have an open ticket. I tried almost everything suggested here without any success. Let's see what the support crew can suggest.
Thanks,
Hakan

Hi Hakan, I'm having exactly the same problem, did you found a solution that you could kindly share with us??

Hi Alejandro
Issues may vary based on your network environment.
- Log out of TIDAL in Music Services, then restart your Player and log back in
- If that doesn't work, reboot your router, wait 5 minutes then reboot the player
- If that doesn't work then as above - Send Support Request so we may take a closer look

Hi Alejandro
Unfortunately we could not find a solution. BluOs app is extremely slow still on Tunein and Tidal. Tidal connect, still slow. So i am playing via Airplay at the moment for Tidal thru Node 2i, which helps. But yeah i believe its a problam that can not be solved at the moment. Maybe a software update in the future will.

Same issue here, started about 2 weeks ago. Thinking about canceling Tidal subscription......

Still the same, bluesound team mentioned issues related with the Network enviroment but I already connected the node directly to the the reuter and still the same.
Using tidal from the Bluos app works perfectly so I think this is an issue related with Tiddal app.
If only everything could work like Spotify connect...
Lets wait for an update (or Spotify hifi)

I'm having the same issue. Tidal Connect time tracker moves ahead in 5 second increments, while the bluos integration works flawlessly. Is there any update on a new API integration that includes the 'suggested tracks' feature?

Just an update everyone - we are continuing to work closely with TIDAL to locate the root cause of the issue. It does only appear to be happening when using TIDAL connect in certain regions (so maybe dependant on TIDAL Servers). In the meantime, direct TIDAL integration using the BluOS App does not seem to cause the issue or fault.

Hi Mark
You will have to ask TIDAL about the cue bar time increments. As for API updates, those are published or updated less frequently than one would think. Also again that would be TIDAL as they are the ones who update the document. We are working off the latest one which is relatively recent.

Same bug here. Erratic behavior when playing over Tidal Connect from Tidal apps. Both iPhone Xr and Mac app latest versions present the same problem, but only over Tidal Connect. Streaming over Airplay to Node 2i works fine. Playing straight from BluOS also works fine. Wrote to Tidal. They are looking into it. I tried all the logout and app reinstall suggestions. Not doing anything.

I have the newest version of bluesound node and tidel. Tidel connect won't play whole albums. It automatically skips to the last track. If I'm "lucky" it'll skip to the 3rd, 8th and last track. I have a ethernet cable directly plugged into the node. Not sure where these complaints are coming from but just wanted you guys to be aware I'm in Michigan, USA
Besides Tidel being very finicky... great component. Looks and sounds beautiful :)1 -
Welcome to the club Thomas, we're having exactly the same issue. I'm from México city so not quite sure of this is a regional issue as mentioned from the Bluesound team.

Glad to hear I'm not the only one experiencing this. I also wrote to Tidal about 10 days ago but no replies as yet. Thanks Tony for looking into this, but just to add that this is not just limited to Tidal Connect for me. Tidal in the BluOS app does technically work, but it is glacially slow and unresponsive. I’ve followed the various troubleshooting advice to no avail.

I'm happy I found this thread before I started pulling my hair out. I hope if anyone notices a improvement they let everyone here know. I will make sure I do the same.

UPDATE
Thank you for your patience All
We have replicated this issue fully and are currently testing solutions in our QA Lab - we hope to announce a fix very soon.

The same problem in the netherlands...so..this is not a regional problem! Hope for a fix VERY soon!

The same problem I have in Romania, since the last firmware upgrade Tidal Connect skips songs in albums and playlists and also once this happen I cannot skip ahead on the current song that is playing neither pause/play it again (only buttons that send input to my node 2i are next song and previous song).

Tony W., If this is an issue related with the latest firmware update, do you recomend a back dated firmware updtade?? Or do you expect to have a solution soon??

My Node (2021 model) just picked up BlueOS 3.14.26 which seems to have cleared up my Tidal Connect skipping to last song when selecting new album issues!
BluOS 3.14.26. Released June 23, 2021.
• Updates to Spotify Connect and TIDAL connect.
• Improve AirPlay2 volume range on DALI Sound Hub.1 -
Thanks for the heads up Tool!! I already updated my node 2i and is working fine. Time tracker still jumping every 5 seconds but I can live with that.

I'm still having an issue where within a playlist, the next song will play but it will not show visually in the tidal app. Manually forwarding to the next track will update the album art and title (Only when using tidal connect to node 2i) Works fine in the bluos app but not the tidal app, so not sure if it's something bluesound can help with. On the latest .26 firmware

Hi Tony, Can you comment on the above issue ?

Happens with android app and windows app for tidal, but only when using TD Connect to a node 2i

Hi Marc
That issue would probably be best handled by TIDAL as it may be a bug in their App.

Hi - Was actually double checking today and the issue is also in the bluos app when using tidal connect. When I open bluos during a td connect session , the current song will persist as still playing in the queue bar and album art/title, even as the next song in the queue is actually playing.

Hi everybody. From Italy. Bluesound simply is not able to solve the problem.
They have known the problem for years, but they aren’t able to fix or worse the do not want…1 -
Thank you for your feedback Dario - the isolated issue you are seeing is likely being caused by network traffic being blocked in your home environment - please continue to work with our Support Crew to troubleshoot your home network.

Node N130, and I have seamless problem with Tidal, but with Qobuz, Radio Paradise, TuneIn all is Ok. Tidal is very buggy!
