SACD Playback via HDMI on Powernode?

When I bought the Powernode 2i I thought it supports DSD streams from a SACD-Player. However when I connect my SACD-Player to the HDMI port nothing happens. With the same player and the same cable my Denon AV-Receiver reads the DSD stream just fine. 

Is there a way to play back SACD in HiRes Stereo on the Powernode 2i?

  Hi Jo

  Bluesound and BluOS Players do not support native DSD playback. You will have to use the onboard DAC in your SACD Player and select analogue out to analogue in of the POWERNODE.

  In the two years since Tony W., response is there any change in SACD/DSD playback through HDMI/ARC port? My SACD has no built in DAC. Analog inputs on NODE being used for Phono Stage Input. Thanks

  No. This is because ARC via HDMI does not work this way. You cannot connect a disc player to an audio return channel of an amplifier and receive audio. You will need an HDMI extraction layer (usually a TV or AV Receiver) to do this. This is not a BluOS limitation but how HDMI works.
