Direct connection to active speakers
AnsweredHi. I am new here. I have a pair of JBL 305P MKII active (powered) speakers.
I intend to connect a new Node 2i to them in two potential ways. I assume I can connect them directly to the powered speakers. I intend to use the Bluesound software for equalizing. Can I expect ideal sound quality?
I also have a AudioBox USB96 interface https://www.presonus.com/products/AudioBox-USB-96 that I can connect through it. Not sure the advantage apart from having mechanical volume and gain controls. Would there be any advantage to that?

Hello,
The NODE does not have a Balanced XLR or USB output, so I you would connect the NODE to your JBLs is over RCA line out. This is how I've connected my own NODE to my system, so you should be just fine to do so with your active speakers.
The AudioBox you linked looks like it's designed more for audio recording equipment/recording interface, mainly mics, and I don't believe you would be able to use it in between your speakers and the NODE.

Sam R.
