    Hi Osal

Things are always getting better on that front - ISPs generally however focus their routers on providing telephone or television delivery to you and IoT appliance support is an afterthought. You should be okay with 10 or so devices connected to your network (not just Bluesound Players, this includes phones, TVs voice assistants, doorbells, vacuum cleaners as well as stereos). It's when you get above 15 - and it's not that hard now days - where things start to get jumbled. Consider the right tools for the right job.

Between 4 of us we have 4 smart phones, 4 laptops, 3 iPads. Then we have 4 Google minis, 13 smart lights, Nest IQ camera etc. Up to now we have never had a problem (other than one of the 5 Bluesound devices periodically dropping off but a restart fixes that). The only reason I want to change is I want to get ahead of the obsolete software. If an Apple extreme goes down I have no replacement. What I don't want to do is keep trying different options that are already know to have a high failure rate.

Can you be more specific about "the right tools for the right job" please.

I can't - it depends on your home and your network. Research the router reviews.

Also note that Bluesound Players do not upsample and downsample like video cameras do. If you want lossless audio played simultaneously through multiple players, you will need about 2-3MB of throughput per player from the router to the player itself.

Checkout www.bluesound.com/network101 for some good 'best practice' tips.

I really do wish Bluesound were more transparent about the system requirements, considerable technological complications and the networking issues involved in having this system. British Telecom are the largest broadband supplier in the UK with specific hardware and I am surprised there is not substantial troubleshooting support available from Bluesound.

I have researched router reviews but for every positive "it worked for me" review there are at 5 " it didn't work for me" ones with none standing out as an option (I have tried Orbi in the past myself on recommendation in a forum but that did not work out for me at all).

We have no other problems with any other smart devices whatsoever. When something fails it is only ever and always one of the Bluesound speakers. Sorry to rant but spending thousands of pounds on what is in everything but name a BETA system is annoying.
