5.1 on NAD c658
AnsweredHello world.
I'm planning to buy a NAD c658 pre-amp, which has the BlueOS feature. This unit doesn't have an HDMI input, but I would be adding the NAD 4k HMDI module to it and my TV would be connected via HDMI. I have two rear Flex speakers already in my system. Would surround 5.1 be supported with this setup?
Thanks!

No
Though adding an HDMI MDC module to your C658 will allow for ARC and TV you will not be able to create a surround sound system. The C658 does not support the 4K MDC as this is designed for the NAD T-Series Home Theatre lineup.
The PULSE FLEXes can only create a Home Theatre Group with a PULSE SOUNDBAR or a POWERNODE acting as the front speakers.
What you truly want is to look at some of the great products made by our good friends at NAD Electronics. I suspect their T778 AV Receiver is really what you are looking for.
