Headphone with 250 ohms impedance and node 2i
AnsweredHi,
can the node 2i drive a headphone with 250 ohms impedance and nominal sound pressure level of 102 dB (1 mW / 500 Hz) ?

Hello Jerome,
The NODE 2i feature a dedicated headphone output driver rated 0.0055% THD @1kHz, 35mW. It is designed for use with most headphones with a minimum impedance of 14 ohms.
I believe in the past I've seen this headphone driver capable of driving headphones rated at 150 ohms.
That being said, I would strongly recommend testing beforehand, as choosing a pair of headphones to use with the NODE 2i depends on a number of factors including impedance, headphone sensitivity and the listener's general loudness preference. You'll want to make sure the NODE can power your headphones to your preferences before settling on a pair.

Hi Sam,
thanks for your answer.
Searching the internet, I've read that the headphone amp in the node 2 (not 2i) is a TI TPA6130A2, is it the same in the node 2i ?
I'll definitely find a local reseller where I can test headphones before buying one.
Regards,
Jerome
