no variable volume on NODE 2i despite setting fixed output mode to off
AnsweredIn audio under player settings I set output level fixed to off, resulting in speaker icon with small lock icon next to it, much lower volume than when in fixed output on mode-BUT no change in volume when moving volume slider. Trying to use Node 2i as analog preamp into external amp. Don't know significance of lock symbol next to speaker even when fixed mode off. Played with volume limits slider- no effect. Can't find another way in settings to allow variable volume control. Thanks for your help.

Hello Jonathan,
If there is a lock beside the volume icon, then that would mean Fixed Output is On. However, if the lock icon is present, the volume slider should not appear or be adjustable -- which makes this a curious case.
I'd first recommend rebooting the NODE and, once it powers back on, toggle the Settings > Player > Audio > Output level fixed once (turn on/off) to see if that resolves the issue.
If not, please send a diagnostics log to our support crew via Help > Send Support Request (log will be automatically attached) so they may look into this further.

If i may: there is a mini lock glyph next to the speaker icon, whether i enable or disable it. Maybe that is working as designed, nevertheless, confusing.
When is disable Output level fixed, i can define a min/max range. Does this mean that inside a player, i can control the volume within this range? I would love to have the dB tooltip while sliding the volume (same as in the config, then i would know for sure 👍0
