Bluesound Powernode 2i audio settings
AnsweredIn the Bluesound app I can change e.g the sub on/off under the audio settings. However, no change in this setting: in both settings the sub is working. Also, no change in options Stereo/left/right/mono.
Any thoughts?
Also the behavior with a Harmony remote is strange. The sound coming from the TV is always pauzed when starting a activity.
Any thoughts are very welcome.

Hi Evert,
"With Subwoofer" will only apply a 80Hz filter to the attached speakers. Sub will always be on. -
Additional info: I use a REL Quake 150e sub

Thanks for the explanation!
What about the the sound coming from the TV is always paused when starting an activity? It looks it is not always the case so I added the "play" command at the end of the activity in the Harmony. But this is a toggle command so it works only now and then.
Thanks Evert

Hi Evert
That sounds like a Harmony programming issue; https://support1.bluesound.com/hc/en-us/articles/1150055667680 -
Thanks for your reply Tony!
Basically the Harmony works well. But the play command toggles between pause and play. I need a discrete command for play and not a toggle command. I tried the solution you mentioned but I can’t find such a command,

Tony, I hope you don't mind but I have some additional questions about the controller:
- In the controller under audio settings, changing the output mode (stereo, left, right, mono) doesn't give any effect. It looks it is always stereo. Not a big issue but why isn't it working?
- The same applies for the automatic volume adjustment in the audio setting
- Is there an option to adjust the sub volume (REL Quake 150) or can I only do it on the sub itself?
- Integration with Spotify is not so nice as Sonos. Eg, with Sonos I can adjust the volume with the volume buttons on the iPhone. Is there a possibility to use these buttons also with Bluesound?
Bluesound has indeed better sound quality, but the software is some disappointing compared to Sonos.
Many thanks in advance!
Regards, Evert

Sorry, just one more:
- Can the next and previous commands also be used for next and previous presets?

In order:
- In the controller under audio settings, changing the output mode (stereo, left, right, mono) doesn't give any effect. It looks it is always stereo. Not a big issue but why isn't it working?
Output mode will allow you to adjust which channel your currently selected player will output. For example, 2 speakers connected to a Powernode 2i will both output the right channel audio while Right is selected as the Output mode. You may need to refresh the song (hit back/next or clear the queue and reload the song) to implement this change.- The same applies for the automatic volume adjustment in the audio setting
Is this regarding Volume Limits? This would essentially limit the max and min volume the player can play at. So you could still set it to max volume, but now that max volume is -20dB for example. The volume steps are logarithmically adjusted.
- Is there an option to adjust the sub volume (REL Quake 150) or can I only do it on the sub itself?
You would need to do this via the sub itself. I would recommend leaving the setting in the BluOS app as 'no sub' and then setting both the volume and crossover from your sub's internals.
- Integration with Spotify is not so nice as Sonos. Eg, with Sonos I can adjust the volume with the volume buttons on the iPhone. Is there a possibility to use these buttons also with Bluesound?
Technically since Spotfiy has removed itself from deep integration with the BluOS app, all control is done via the Spotify app. That being said, after casting my Spotify playback onto the Bluesound player (Node in my case) I can adjust the volume of the Spotify playback/Node using the volume keys on my phone. I'm not certain why this isn't working in your case, but perhaps rebooting the phone will fix this (maybe some app is overriding the volume control).
- Can the next and previous commands also be used for next and previous presets?
I do not think it would be possible to program these as presets (presets require a 'sound'), but they are programmable remote commands (Settings > Player > IR Remote > IR Learning) if that was what you were looking to do.

I have swapped the Bluesound Powernode 2i to a Bluesound Node 2i. I use 2 Beolab 8000 active speakers which have also RCA sockets next to the traditional Powerlink sockets. On the speakers is a switch to use the Powerlink or the RCA sockets.
The speakers and the Node 2i are connected with a high end shielded RCA cable but both the speakers are humming during play. When there is no sound, one of the speaker switches automatically off (like it should do), the other one doesn't switch off at all.
Using a Marantz amplifier with pre out sockets, both speakers are working fine without any hum.
Although lots of posts in B&O forums about this speaker behavior are pointing to unshielded cables, it looks that the combination with the Node 2i causes the hum, since I really use high end shielded cables.
Anyone any idea or experience with this?
Thanks and regards, Evert

AV-Connection make "excellent" trigger cables

Works great with my Node2i and Penta's0 -
Thanks for your reply Bjørn!
So you use the Powerlink connecting of the Penta's and the RCA and trigger on the Node2i?
I ordered a new set of high end RCA cables at SoundsHeavenly (will probably arrive within some days) and Steve didn't recommend this connection.

RCA and trigger out from Node, Powerlink to 1 Penta and Powerlink from the first Penta to the second. Also Powelink from the second Penta to subwoofer (with cable from Steve).
In my setup with RCA out to RCA on the Penta's it worked "ok", but was more or less annoying at low volume because the Penta's was turning on/off most of the time.0
