SHM-CD is fully compatible with "redbook standard".

If same mastering is used for "standard" and "SHM-CD" there will be no difference in sound quality between them. It is what it is....a con/snakeoil.

Thank you,Bjorn. Can I ask another question? Hope I'm not out of line and I should try and get an answer from Bluesound-Why does my Bluesound Controller say "24 bit" when it launches, but al my ripped music is only 16bit? I don't subscribe to any platforms such as Tidal etc.Thank you Tony

24-bit is the highest resolution for the player, not what you are playing.

When playing you can look at the "icons" as there are different icons for "CD quality" and "High Resolution".
