Node 2i with to with out an external Pre-Amp

Currently using my BlueSound Node 2i with my Densen B200 pre-amp and Densen B320+ Power Amplifier to power a pair of Kef LS50's. I have tried both using and not using the B200. To me there is a difference in the sound when I run the Node 2i through the B200. Not able to put my finger on it but it sounds different.  I use MQA tracks from Tidal for my testing

Would be interested to hear what topologies others are using and what seems to work best.

  Hello Stephen, 

  I find some people prefer including a pre-amp in their setup chain, saying it adds a sort of clarity. The B200 looks like a solid state pre amp so that may also introduce that note of precision.  

  Though that's mostly a perspective; it often comes down to your ears to be the judge. Compare the two setups for extended periods of time each and see which you prefer, or which you find compliments your music better.
