    Hello All

Due to recent legal proceedings regarding copyright infringement, TuneIn has begun restricting access to a number of stations in the UK, quoting, "Unfortunately due to a court ruling in the United Kingdom, we will be restricting international stations to prohibit their availability in the UK, with limited exceptions. We apologize for the inconvenience."

You may read more about it here: https://cms.tunein.com/press-release/latest-decision-from-u-k-high-court-involving-tunein-and-sony-music-warner-music/

We do apologise for the inconvenience but unfortunately, there is not much we can do here at Bluesound. Using other Radio re-broadcast services will probably shortly if not already result in a similar issue based on UK copyright law.

Please contact TuneIn for further details.

    Hi Aurélien

We are having a hard time replicating your TuneIn issue. I am in Canada and have not had issues streaming random stations in the EU or Oceania.

Please ensure you are not having any network-related interference such as a poor VPN or firewall blocking traffic.

Hi Tony/Aureilien, this is certainly a problem in the UK where Tunein has removed many non-UK stations as the result of a UK Court ruling. See here - https://completemusicupdate.com/article/tunein-starts-restricting-international-stations-in-the-uk-after-major-labels-legal-win/ If it helps I have found a work around by using the 'add custom station' function in the Favourites option. This allows you to add removed stations you want to access although does take a bit of searching around the internet to find the relevant URLs. So, not an ideal solution and would be good to hear a response to the original question.

Thanks for the tip. How do you find the streaming URL of a specific radio? Thanks for your help.

No problem. Try a Google search for 'radio URLs'. That should get you a few sites with numerous links. However, if you're interested in a specific radio station try their website. Example here http://www.radioswissjazz.ch/en/reception/internet If you click on the 'Reception' tab on the left hand side and then 'Internet' this will open up a page with various links. Scroll down to 'Wi fi Internet radio' and you'll see the url limks that you can paste into Tune in. Other stations you're interested in will hopefully have something similar. Hope this helps.

My other internet radios (Ruark) seem to be still working ok and after reading the link I'm not sure why this would just affect Tunein? It would also suggest full internet radio functionality could be restored through something other than Tunein. It was for me (as for many others I would think) one of the major reasons for buying the device.

I think you're right, switching to a service other than Tune In should restore full radio access. My experience has been similar to yours in that I have a number of other internet radios/streamers that use providers other than Tune In, e.g. Receiva. These all retain access to stations outside the UK. I'm hoping someone from Bluesound picks up on this thread again and answers Aurelien's initial question as to whether an alternative is being considered.

Maybe all we UK Tunein users need to yell/scream/boycott Sony Music who are the real culprits here...
