Pulses 2i can't handle Hi-Res files since 3.10.xx updates
AnsweredHi Sam, Support Crew,
Since I updated to 3.10.xx, my Pulses 2i (2 Minis and 1 Flex) have become unable to play Hi-Res (24bit/192) songs stored on my Vault 2i properly - they will stop and buffer for 1-2 seconds every 5-6 seconds.
- Wi-fi signal strength is between -48 and -53dBm so not the issue;
- the same songs played fine with 3.8.xx;
- 24/44 files play fine;
- other forum users report the same issue with 24/96 files (I don't have any 24/96);
- the Vault 2i itself (wired on my stereo) will play those same Hi-Res files fine;
- this new issue started with 3.10.0 and 3.10.3 did not resolve it.
As this never happened with 3.8.xx, it looks like something in the 3.10.xx updates is causing the Pulses to struggle with sourcing 24/96+ files from the Vault over Wi-fi. Any simple explanation or quick fix/setting or shall I open a ticket?

The issue you speak of had to do with specifically NODE 2is playing to external DACs which has been resolved in BluOS 3.10.3.
If your songs are playing but buffering on a PULSE (or multiple PULSE Players) stored on a VAULT this does sound networkish.
- Please power down all Players and other network devices (phones in Airplane Mode)
- Power down any Wi-Fi Extenders
- Power down your router for 30 seconds then power it back up
- WAIT 5 MINUTES <- Very important
- Power up any extenders and then wait 5 more minutes
- Power everything back up
- In the VAULT, select Help, Diagnostics, Rebuild Index
- Once the Index completes, play some tunes
If after this you are still having issues, please select Help, Send Support Request in the App as we will need to take a closer look at the Player Log files. If you do submit a request, please also tell us the make and model of your router and any possible Wi-Fi Extenders.

Hi Tony,
Nice to hear from you again and thank you for the super-fast reply.
This is indeed a different issue than the one you refer to with the Nodes and 3.10.0, but since it came up with the 3.10.xx updates (nothing changed on my network) and is apparently experienced by other users posting on the forum, it just might be another 3.10.xx related issue.
Anyways, I will proceed as suggested in your post and open a ticket if this does not solve the issue.
Best regards,
Marc

Hi Tony,
Not sure whether you are going to read this now that the subject is marked "answered" but I just wanted to report that I proceeded as instructed, unfortunately this did not solve this new BluOS 3.10-related issue.
I sent a request to the Support Crew, ticket n°196008.
Best regards,
Marc

I have posted to another thread with what sounds like the same issue. This began for me when my system updated to 3.10.3, dropouts/skips when playing hi-res files (in my case, Qobuz is source for these).
