    Hi Magnus

Our newer NAD line up is not officially certified by ROON, but ROON will admit is 'ROON Ready' and will connect, show in your CORE Server (with an asterisk), and play since these Players are BluOS Players.

We continue to work with ROON regarding official certification but the delay is some front panel display specifications which are taking more time than both organisation anticipated.

Please feel free to purchase with confidence.

    Thank you very much Tony!
I have the M10 home for test, and it works fine with Roon, will get the M33 when available.

Very important information.  Roon will stop supporting uncertified products after the 21 september. NAD is part of those products.

I would wait and make sure NAD is certified the M33 with Roon before spending $$$

I have a NAD C658 and since 2 years we are still waiting for Roon certification.

Now after the 21 september I don't know if the NAD C658 will still work with Roon.

Time for NAD to step up and finish the certification process for the C658, M10, M33

Wow I'm shocked, just recevied my long awaited M33 just to find it doesent work with Roon at all! (only via AirPlay)

Any time frame when this will be fixed? Is it within the free return period of 60 days? This certainly is a deal breaker for me...

Considering the price of the unit and my experience with the C658 and the long time it take for NAD to make the C658 to certified.

I suggest you to return the unit if Roon is a concern. Wait until it’s fully certified because you don’t know when it will be certified and to me it’s an unfinished product. Too fast on the market and they cut corners. My C658 still have sone bugs in Roon and it’s released 2 years ago.

    Return the unit!

    Hi Magnus

We are working very closely with ROON Labs. Expect the NAD M33 to be certified in the next series of ROON software updates. Until then, as a BluOS Player, the NAD M33 will appear in ROON and be able to be used.

Quotes: Until then, as a BluOS Player, the NAD M33 will appear in ROON and be able to be used

Since the 21 september all device not certified will not work with Roon (RAAT protocol) and the audio device will not play with Roon. Only the Airplay work as Magnus explained.

Magnus is in a 60 days free return period and what he wants to know is when NAD M33 will be certified.

He wants a time frame or a approximate realistic date for this to happen and not a response with Oh we are working on it and we will release it sometimes but we don't know when.

I have received these response from NAD for the last year until finally the Roon deadline of 21 september for certification to get the C658 certified. Anyway mine is on sale and as soon I sold it i'm done with NAD...

    Hi Sylvain

That's really disappointing to hear you are considering selling your player as your concerns are with ROON Labs and your NAD C658 does work very well with their software. You should probably voice your concerns to them as we continue to work with them and meet their requirements. They are a great partner and will be happy to help you.

Thanks for your patience and understanding.

Sorry to wake this old thread up, but one month has gone by and no Roon certification.

Any time frame when this will be fixed? I have a few weeks left of my free return period of 60 days and I certainly wont keep it if that's not solved.

    Hi Magnus

As mentioned, The NAD M33 WILL be certified with ROON. Good things come to those who wait as we continue to work with them. Thanks for your patience, please keep your NAD M33, you won't be disappointed.

Well, new release from ROON (build 710) yesterday and new BlueOS firmware for NAD M33 last week, but still no certification, I am really loosing hope on this.

Managed to extend my free return period of the M33 with 30 days just because of this, if not fixed until then its going back...

Hi there, please can we get an update on the state of M33 Certification? I just got my M33 today and can't believe that it's not working with Roon. I know it's not certified, but is there any way to get this working (and not over AirPlay)?

Well that's a pretty snarky reply :/ I have the BluOS app. But half my artwork doesn't show up because files can't be over 600kb. It can't figure out how to make multi-disc albums a single album. And it can't figure out that "Death Cab for Cutie" and "Death Cab For Cutie" is the same band.

So what I'm asking is if there is any update on when Roon might be certified, because that is the software I prefer to use, and currently use happily with my Bluesound Node 2i.

    You'd be surprised Rian.

Here's how Album Artwork is handled. https://support1.bluesound.com/hc/en-us/articles/200271926

What you can do quickly is in the BluOS App under Settings, Music Library enable Optomize Artwork to 'right size' your artwork then select Help, Diagnostics to rebuild your Local Library. This will double the Index time this first pass.

As for your Multi-Disc Album - that is because the Album Tag is different in the metadata.

It looks like this is becoming a masterclass on how not to answer the actual question (Roon certification)

I informed Roon that I cancelled the automatic renewal of my subscription pending the certification. They sent an excellent apology message taking full responsibility for their part in the certification process.

After that I forwarded that message to NAD / BluOs, to indicate how disappointed I am with their lack of apparent ownership of this process and their constant finger-pointing to Roon.

This is what I got as part of the response:
“…I am sorry to hear about your concerns. We do apologise for the inconvenience that your NAD M33 was de-certified and has yet to be re-certified by ROON Labs. We continue to work with ROON as best we can and do see them as a valuable partner…”

I just want to point out the obvious inaccuracy, blaming Roon again:

    • The NAD M33 never got the official “Roon ready” certification status, Roon just modified their policy and no longer allow partner equipment not yet certified to connect to Roon. Therefore the M33 never got “de-certified”, that is a gross distortion of the truth if not a downright lie.

I’ve given up on NAD / BluOs owning up to and acting on their responsibility in this partnership with Roon. They just seem to leave their paying customers in the dark and blame Roon for it.

Keeping my hopes up for the BluOs 3.14.x release in April 2021.

Got this statement from: NAD M33 certification - Audio Products / BluOS: NAD & Bluesound - Roon Labs Community

    can you please confirm?

We are very pleased to announce that in the coming days, we will be launching BluOS 3.14. Amongst some other great added features, ROON has fully Certificated the Award Winning NAD M33 and NAD T778 flagship AV Receiver.

I hope this information helps and am going to mark this request as solved to prevent you from receiving reminder emails from our system.

Thank you for choosing NAD Electronics, HEART+SOUL You Can Hear.
