Node 2 internal DAC: asynchronous?
AnsweredTo BlueSound Tech folks:
I have a BlueSound Node 2 and am pretty happy with using it as a streamer/DAC, but have this question about it.
I've seen some people reluctant to use the Node 2 only as a streamer to their asynchronous DACs since the the Node 2 does not have a two-way USB output to make that work.
I can't seem to find any information about the Node 2 internal system. Can you tell us whether the internal clocking environment has an asynchronous clocking mechanism? This might help people evaluate whether particular outboard DACs make any sense.
Not sure why Bluesound would be secretive about this -- some manufacturers tout this as a reason they are so good!
Thanks so much!

Hello Joe,
Our recommendation has always been to let your ears evaluate whether particular outboard DACs are preferred. They would be the best judge ultimately.
Since the Node cannot output music over USB, the best approach is to connect both via Digital and RCA and switch the source on your DAC to compare the two (all outputs on the Node are live so you can switch over to compare with ease).

Sam R.
