Connecting a Node2i and Flex 2i
AnsweredI have a Node2i and play my music from a connected SSD drive. I only have it connected via Wifi at the moment. I am after a portable speaker, such as the Flex 2i, to use in the garden, around the house etc. Will I be able to play music directly from my Node2i to the Flex wirelessly (ie over either wi/fi or bluetooth?). Would the Node need to be hard wired via ethernet to my router to achieve this? Thanks.

Hello,
If you would like to stream from the SSD connected (via USB) to the Node to a Flex, you would need to group them together for the Flex to be able to access the Library on the SSD. Grouping can be done on WiFi, but I find as this is a more bandwidth-intensive process using Ethernet on at least one of the players provides a more solid experience.
That being said, you can alternatively connect this SSD to your router and essentially create a NAS. This way, the Node and Flex can both be pointed to the makeshift NAS and stream from it. In this approach, you wouldn't need to group the players, and so if WiFi works well as it is you can stick to WiFi.
I would recommend the second method as it's overall an easier experience.
