    Hello Hans,

I see you've also got a support request open with the support crew on this. They'll be able to give you more details soon, please keep an eye out for an email from them.

In the meantime you could check the TVs settings to ensure that the Powernode status isn't affected by powering off the TV. Depending on the BRAVIA model the navigation should be something like this :-

    > Home
    > Settings
    > External Inputs
    > BRAVIA Sync Settings

then disable 'Auto Devices Off' to ensure that any attached HDMI devices are not powered down when the TV is set to standby.

    Regards,
    Mark

    Hello Mark and Sam,

I've checked the TVs settings and disable the 'Auto Devices Off', but it makes no diverence.

The Powernode still mutes when I switch off the TV.

    What else can I do?

I have same problem with Sony Bravia and Powernode 2i. Powernode mute when turning off, and blue LED flash. It happend when I use connected wired to network not wifi.  Wifi have weak signal so i have to use wired network.

    Hello Olav Urstad,

Is the problem solved when you use the wired network? Was this the solution for the "mute" problem with the Powernode?

Opposite. Wifi no problem, but when I use wired network I got the "mute" problem

I'm experiencing the exact same problem. When I turn off my television and want to listen to Spotify via the Bluesound app, the volume is muted by default. Is there already a trick/solution for this?

Any updates to this one? Just got the new Node (n130) and seems to be the same behavior. Listening to Spotify for example and turning off the TV turns off the audio from Spotify too.

    Hi Tuomas

Your TV is sending a CEC HDMI command that since it is powering down everything else should also go dormant. This is how CEC works and cannot be trumped. You can disable Auto-Sense in the BluOS App for your Player (Under Settings, Player, Customise Sources) but you will then have to program your player that on the TV remote when you turn on the TV select HDMI as a source.

    Hi,

Thanks for the super quick reply. I've been thinking and testing about this a bit. Programming my TV remote with the IR learning feature sounds like a feasible solution and a nice way to get the remote controlling the volume from all sources.

What I tried so far is to disable the auto-sense feature from the HDMI eARC source. Now it looks like I can use the remote for various things, but when I try to change the volume of the TV via the remote (when Spotify playing and TV also on) it changes source to HDMI eARC from Spotify. Not sure if this is intended behavior when auto-sense is on? I was thinking as a workaround would I get this setup working more nicely with an optical cable that does not send commands through? Then I could just use the IR learning feature and control the volume fully on the Node and not really on the TV (fixed max volume output there).

Hi, the workaround to switch off the Auto-Sense an set the remote controler power button to switch to HDMI is working but it is not the relocation of the problem. Was it addressed finally?

I will, in all likelihood, kill myself. I picked up the Node 3 today specifically because it has the eARC functionality and now, barely 2 hours after owning it and failing to make it work as intended with my Sony TV, I find out that it will likely never work properly with the Sony TV??? Unbelievable.

Every time I turn the Sony TV off, the Node 3 blue indicator light starts flashing, i.e. is muted. Naturally it stays muted even after I play music via AirPlay or when I turn the TV back on.

I went through all the possible settings on the TV and haven't found a solution... all the Bravia Sync settings and all the work arounds simply do not work :(

Then I read the above, where Bluesounds says it's not their problem, because Sony sends a mute signal and so that's that. Good luck to me trying to resolve this with Sony...

Has anyone had any luck with fixing this issue with Sony or is Bluesound going to address this?

I’ve circumvented most of these issues via Home Assistant, that has an integration to both Bluesound and to Sony Android TVs. This way I have an automation that toggles the mute as needed based on if the TV is turned on or off and if music is playing etc. It is a bit technical setup and you will need some hardware like a raspberry pi to run Home Assistant on. But nowadays setting it up is fortunately relatively easy.

Agh, I had a Yamaha WXA-50 which could not do eARC from which I switched to Node 3. I could actually get the Yamaha to do what I needed using the Raspberry Pi, but that's exactly the thing I wanted to avoid... hopefully someone from Bluesound will be able to help
