Powernode 2i - static electricity?
AnsweredThis is a bit weird..
I regularly get a static zap when I touch the black grill around the controls of the Powernode. Nothing more than little static discharge. I have a turntable connected to analog 1 and maybe thought this is building up static.
Question, is that black metal grill connected to chassis earth via the earth connector of the power? Since the entire Powernode unit it encased with this rubber it seems completely insulated.
I'm not sure if I'm the one building up the static charge and its discharging via the Powernode or the unit itself is using me as earth and discharging its own static build up..
I'll try earth myself next time before touch the unit..

Hello Chris,
Agreed, that is a bit weird.
Where have you connected the ground wire of the turntable? To my knowledge the Powernode is grounded via the ground of the power cable. Perhaps test with another cable to see if the same results occur?

Thanks, I'm getting discharge from other things that are earthed so I assume its related to the turntable / vinyl since it started happening when I got the turntable. I'll try to find a way to earth the turntable.
