Node2i over Airplay
AnsweredHi BluOS. Quick question please. I have a Node2i which I use with an attached SSD to play music into my hifi. It sounds ace, thankyou! If I purchased a non-BluOS wi-fi enabled speaker (such as an AudioPro C3) could I play this music from the Node2i too it over Airplay, or would I need to purchase a BluOS speaker? Thanks in advance. Hi Bisscom
Apple AirPlay is only an endpoint solution from an iOS device. You cannot send from any Apple AirPlay speaker to other devices. This is an Apple limitation, not a Bluesound one.
If you want to group with other rooms, you will require another BluOS Device. I would also consider moving your SDD to the USB port of your router for all devices on your network to see the drive. -
Hi,
it might be restricted by Apple but the Apple TV console is capable of doing all of this. I can stream video content from my iPhone using Airplay to Apple TV and from there airplay to both Node 2i and Sonos One speakers, perfectly in sync. Also works the same way by using the Tidal app on Apple TV and airplay to both devices.
So either Apple prevents non-iOS devices to initiate a stream over Airplay,
or Bluos did not implement this feature (yet).Regards
