Node 2i wifi issues - Ethernet from PC not Router?

Hi,

Like many on here I'm having huge problems with Node 2i and wifi. My ipad or iphone can't find the player for ages - I either give up or wait 10 minutes. When I do eventually connect I often get dropouts - the connection is lost from the ipad but the music is still playing and can't be controlled! I have a strong wifi connection - it's all very frustrating. 

Anyway, my Node is in an awkward place for a direct wired ethernet connection to the router - so I was thinking if it's possible to connect a Node 2i to an iMac by ethernet cable and then use the iMac's stable wifi?

  Networks don't work this way - you will have to send all networking devices to a centralised hub and cannot be daisy-chained. You will have to connect your NODE to the router and cannot have it hang off the PC's Ethernet port.

  Have you considered a powerline adapter?

  Thanks for the response. To be honest the wifi router is only about 12ft away and one brick wall. The wifi signal is strong for my imac and ‘fair’ for the Node 2i that’s more or less next to it.
