    Hi Henk

The current Bluetooth Hardware will work fine with your Headphones. Thanks for #LivingHiFi

OK, it works fine, but the range in my house is only 8 metres.

When I want to use the headphone is my atelier/workshop is fales because of the distance (need at least a range of 20 metres).

Bluetooth 5 claims a range of 40 metres and higher quality, so update to version 5 would help me.

    Hi Henk

Glad to hear it works and thanks for the feedback but we cannot update a hardware standard without you acquiring a new physical product - sorry. Your feedback however has been passed along for consideration in future models.

Sorry, but I'm not so glad.

I bought my Node 2i on februari 28 in 2020 and now I should buy a new physical product, i.e. a new Node 2i?

    That's not what I think!!

Is this the service of Bluesound? I'm deeply disappointed.

I didn't get any reaction on my post, 5 days ago. Is this all Bluesound can do?

The problem is that Bluetooth versions are not software only related.

The internal hardwarechip needs to support the new Bluetooth version and that‘s the reason why Bluesound can‘t upgrade it for the devices available at the moment. They can use newer chips for new devices in future...

That‘s always the problem with new BT or HDMI versions, they are not software only.

Btw. didn‘t check this before writing, the Node 2i supports BT 5.0 and aptx HD

Then why is the range only 8 metres?

BT 5.0 claims ranges till 40 metres.

OK, there is a distance of about 20 metres and there are 2 walls between the Node 2i and my atelier/workshop but I also have a reserve of 20 metres.

The BT 5.0 standard even mentions more 40 to 100m, but there are many factors and this range is in best scenarios with free sight between Transmitter and Receiver.

BT uses the 2.4 GHz frequency which is used by many wireless systems (WLAN), any device will affect the others the same if there are other BT devices.

The most important with BT is, no wall between the devices. BT looses much more range if there are walls between the devices. WLAN looses range too but handles that better.

I tryed so many BT systems with different standars and that showed me best is never to have a wall between. And if there is one it depends extremely what kind of wall, are there waterpipes in that wall, etc.
