Ethernet disables controller

When I connect an ethernet cable to my Node 2i, the controller apps (I use MacOS and iOS) get stuck "looking for players". Roon works like normal. Disconnecting the cable enables the controller apps again.

 

I'd like to be able to have the cable connected because I've been experiencing random pausing and skipping in Tidal. But I took for granted that the controller would keep working.

 

 

I made a post about this yesterday, but it seems it disappeared somehow.

  We recommend powering down the NODE, add the network cable then start it again to avoid router confusion. If problems persist, please e-mail us at support@blueosund.com and we will be happy to help troubleshoot further.

  I found the post and it appears that I've made a "contribution" instead of a "request". i have no idea what the difference is and how to make one instead of the other. This discussion board approach is thoroughly confusing.
