Bluesound and Dolby Atmos (Audio) on Tidal
AnsweredI saw that Tidal launched their Dolby Atmos functionality on several TVs, Boxes etc. I would love to see this on BluOS as well. This would be a huge thing for the Soundbar as its already compatible with Atmos, right?

Thanks for the feedback Julius - we saw that too and are always working with our music partners to make a better experience. Unfortunately, we don't have an exact time frame we can share just yet.

Hi Tony,
Do you have an update on this? With the advent of Tidal Connect it is very frustrating not being able to cast Atmos to my T778.
Thanks
Simon

I have the exact same question: When will there be a Node with HDMI output capable of streaming Atmos/eAC3/DD+ content from Tidal?
And when implemented I hope you will preserve the bitperfect output option (zero normalizing, zero volumen resampling and zero tone controls) som my DTS 24/96 library will still stream as it does today throught the S/Pdif output - but that must be a prerequisite for streaming the Tidal Atmos as well :-)Regards,
Jens

The obvious work-around for the time being is using an AppleTV 4K (or one of the supported boxes) and installing the Tidal app - as I have - but my guess is that the extremely short list of albums to chose from would be a disappointment to anyone. Adding to the disappointment a lot of the mastering is just plain silly but at least some of the Kraftwerk "The Catalogue" has a decent Atmos-quality to it.
Would still like to have it on a Node but NOT at the expense of the ability to play DTS encoded music from my local library.

Hi Jens
Your post resembles a lot of the conversation around our internal meetings on this topic. We are looking into it but don't have timelines to share and are concerned about what it entails to do it properly.

I've been using a Fire TV streamer to play Dolby Atmos via Tidal, but I'd prefer to control it through the BlueOS app. Is this a feature that can be added to the current Node 2i with HDMI hardware, or would a hardware upgrade be required?
