Will NAD C658 Pre add Volume Limit Funtion ?
AnsweredDear sir
I use NAD c658 as a preamp to my NAD m22v2 poweramp,
but really afraid turning the volume too loud to hurt my ears.
Is there any method to limit the maximum volume recently ?
Besides, I found the Optical Input is louder than Tidal.
Will the Input Sensitivity Adjustment add in the future ?
Thank

Within BluOS you can limit the volume I believe, I can on my Node2, I would imagine C658 would be the same.
This only affect streaming and would not affect the other inputs to your NAD C658 however.

Its NOT possible to limit the volume on NAD C658, even its possible on NODE2 and more . Not for BluOS input or other one , which is VERY dangerous . See also other threads here.

I agree completely , that a volume limiting or at least delay on the volume slider is necessary.
I use the C658 with the C298 which is able to feed app. 2x 500W into 4 Ohm speakers.
Once i took the pad for bluos control from the desk and just touched the slider on the 80% position and was very happy not to destroy my speakers and my ears.
This is a safety issue for the user and equipment.
And safety should always come first.

I have the same complaint about the missing Volume limit setting.
I blow up a mono power amp and a B&W 804 speaker. It cost me 3000 euro.
4 family members are using spotify/Qobuz on the BluOs app and a volume mistake is made in a split second.
I see the first comment of the Product Support Manager is 3 years old, which means that the complaints are not taken seriously.
This type of feature should be included standard in every by app controled amplifier.

On my C658 with the lastest BlueOS APP it is not possible anymore to just tip on the slider maximum and get the maximum volume, but it is still possible with slowly moving the slider.
So they have improved somehow the app but there is still no limitation setting in my C658 as far as i know.

solved:
Thank you for contacting NAD Electronics Support regarding setting the volume limits in your C658.
I am pleased to advise that the C658 Volume Limits feature is now available in BluOS 3.20.52 released yesterday.
After you upgrade your C658 to BluOS 3.20.52, you will see the new Volume Limits feature in the C658 front panel Settings menu and in the BluOS App >My Players > C658 > Audio > Volume Limits Min/Max
Please give this new feature a try. If you have any questions about it please let us know.
Kind regards,

in NAD C658 bluos firmware 3.20.52, the volume limit function is added. Thank you very much. I added in my home network a second network router on which only one tabled was logged on, to prevent mistakes by other users on other floors in the house. This is dismantled and we have the full freedom of playing our music without the risk of destroying the audio equipment.
This software version also solved the memory loss, when switching off the power e.g. during updates (volume intelligence; login for Qobuz and Spottify; Dirac tables etc.) Also thanks for this.
Now this unit, with all its posibilities is one of the finest units on the market and I am very glad to be a proud owner.

Aw shucks - thank you for your kind words Ferdi. We are sorry it took so long but this implementation was not as easy as it sounded on paper. Some bugs are more slippery than others to quash.
