    Hello Bob,

For what you are looking for, both the Powernode and the Powernode 2i with HDMI will provide the same functionality. The Powernode 2i with HDMI simply allows an external input to be connected over HDMI as a source of audio.

To display the currently playing song you will need to use the BluOS app. To have the currently displaying song appear on a display in your home, I would suggest installing the BluOS app on a computer and connecting it to this display.

Alternatively, you could look into a Custom Integration solution such as Crestron or Control 4 as these would allow you to customize your BluOS interface on an external device. However, these systems can be quite costly to simply provide the currently playing song on an external display.

    Regards,
    Wesley P.

That's unfortunate. Bluesound should make a small digital display to sell as an addon device that extracts the info from the app for display, or perhaps a remote with smal LCD display that would show basic info. Not all of us have our phones or laptops around all of the time.

Very unfortunate, Bob.  I've recently had those thoughts myself - how nice it would be to have a visual display. Streaming music is convenient and sounds great, but I do miss the album covers and inserts that came with vinyl records and CD's. Actually, a computer geek buddy and I have a concept, but I'm sure we'll never do anything with it. Wouldn't it be great to have a double-sided 12"x12" screen that you could sit on a shelf beside your system that would display the album cover corresponding with the song that's playing - and on the rear screen, have the back of the album cover?  That - or either a single-sided display that starts with the album cover, and can be swiped to show the rear and inserts. The apparatus would not need to be connected to your system, but would use an app such as Shazam to recognize the music and download the cover art/data via wifi from an external database.  All this technology exists, and I know there's a niche market for it, I just wish someone would make it! I think the biggest hurdle would be obtaining usage rights for the album artwork.

Not entirely what you described (single screen only) but with a bit of an investment the M10 with its front display could fit the bill (plus a step up in sound quality and Dirac to boot)

Looks good - but I already have an integrated amp that I love.

I have a Panasonic tv so, on my ipad, I have an app “Mirror Panasonic Tv”. Which allows both sound and vision to be mirrored.  I just mute the audio and let that play through the ipad/node2i route and the visual through the ipad/app/tv route.

there is a very slight delay between ipad and tv (about 2 secs) but its not really noticeable for displaying album artwork and I haven’t measured whether it actually is still there between the tv and the Node2i

An old tablet or even cell phone (on WiFi) should do the trick.  Keep it powered via USB and the display always on, or as needed.

Instead of video output, may be an app for smart TV's or video streaming boxes to display BluOS screens.
