    Hello Ricardo,

Since the only available output on the Powernode 2i are the binding posts intended for speaker connections and the front 3.5mm headphone port, it is unlikely you could connect the Powernode 2i to an external amplifier.

The Powernode 2i was designed from the ground up to include this internal amplifier so this is not an intended configuration to use the Powernode with another amplifier. To have BluOS connect through an external amplifier I would recommend the Node 2i instead.

    Hi Wesley,

Thanks for your response. Which outputs are in the node2i to connect an amplifier?

    Hello Ricardo,

The Node 2i has 3 available output options to connect to an external amplifier depending on your amplifier's available inputs. The Node 2i has an RCA analog output as well as an optical and coaxial output which are both digital outputs.

The powernode has an optical in and analog in. This won't do?

    Hello Ricardo,

Inputs would be for receiving audio, not for sending it to external equipment. From what you have described, having these inputs will not help to connect a Powernode 2i to your external amplifier.

Why not headphone output to an external amp?

Is this possible? To which output in the amp? Does this connection have a bad influence on sound quality?

    Hello,

It is possible -- you would typically go Headphone Out > Analog/Line IN on your amp using a 3.5mm to RCA cable.

The sound quality would be the same as regular headphones, so if you turn the amp noticeably high you may potentially find some loss of quality (its taking a low-level signal and amplifying it).

All things considered, you can test it out yourself to see if it is adequate.

    Regards,
    Sam R.
