Tidal MQA sound quality: BluOS compared ROON/FidelizerPro
AnsweredTo my great surprise I am finding on my new Node 2i that the sound quality of Tidal Masters, played back via the Blusound app is much better than the same track playback via ROON, optimised with Fidelizer Pro. The difference is huge. Indeed TIDAL MQA sounds better than the same track from a 96/192k FLAC local library file on the ROON server.
What is more confusing is that every other playback option, ie local library, both CD or high rez, or Tidal CD, are better though ROON, especially for the high rez files.
My best guess is that there is an issue with MQA processing in ROON or some aspect of the Node 2i that prefers to do both Decode and Render.
Does anybody have similar experience?
