Why do you think it doesn't work? Note that toggling replay gain on and off is not effective immediately - the change is made only when a (new) track is selected for playback.

but it affect also optical connections?

Yes, it will impact digital (coax & optical) and analogue outputs.

    Hi Davide,

You first need to ensure that your music files have the necessary replay gain tags set in their metadata. Please see this link for more information:-

    Ah, that makes more sense.

I think the problem must be with the MQA version of the track. With the Node2 you will only get a full MQA unfold of the signal when using either a) it's analogue outputs or b) it's digital outputs but only when fed into an MQA compliant DAC.

As far as I'm aware the KEF LSX DAC isn't MQA compliant so you're not going to get optimum results from using the optical/TOSLINK connection. I also believe that the ReplayGain information is being lost in this configuration as the gain adjustment should take place after the final unfold.

In order to play MQA encoded files correctly you will have to use the analogue/phono outputs from the Node 2 and this should also enable the ReplayGain adjustments to work correctly.

    regards, Mark

so why audirvana can work correctly also without all these compications and node not? I really do not understand...

and again: using front headphone jack to kef, replay gain is different from tracks...

and also with headphones still different...

it definitely works only on bluetooth headphones
