Powernode 2i with Samsung TV "unclear voices"

I have a Powernode 2i which makes my Sonus Faber speakers with B&W PV1 sub play streamed music just fantastic. 

However; I connected my new Samsung TV with Optical cable to Powernode Optical 1 and with the TV sound especially voices are very blurred and unclear. I have disconnected the TV sound so it's not the 'echo' from the TV that affects it. It sounds as if the system is a 3 channel and the centre is missing (the voices are not clear). I have also de-activated the Bluetooth connection so it's not selecting this as input.

The settings on the TV is Output as PCM and 0 delay. On the Powernode I normally run without tonecontrol for streamed music and that works well. But with the TV and Optical 1 input selected I tried both to run without any tonecontrol but also setting the equalizer with less bass etc. It gives no/very little change.

Can anyone help?
