Sorting library by album/artist, release-date hangs in macOS controller
As per the title, switching album view to sort by 'artist, release-date' just brings up the spinning loading animation, but never loads any albums. The controller app is up to date and I'm running the full release of macOS 10.15.4 (it did the same in 10.15.3). The iOS controllers aren't experiencing this issue for me, only the Mac version.
Edit: just confirmed that sort by 'artist' has the same fault — all other sort options work fine.

Hello Ian,
I have just tested this here using the BluOS desktop app for Mac and have been unable to replicate this issue you are experiencing.
What I would suggest is to ensure you are on the latest version of the BluOS desktop app from www.bluesound.com/downloads and if this issue persists, please contact our support crew directly at support@bluesound.com for further assistance.Regards,

I have exactly the same problem with Windows 10 controller app. I use NAD C388 with MDC bluos 2. Yesterday I plugged in external HDD into the MDC and everything was fine, but I was shocked to find out that the MDC is reindexing the HDD every time I turn the amplifier off/on. On the Android app sorting is wotking as it should be, but on Windows app it just hangs.
Today I connected the HDD to USB port on a router. I reindexed the library and was pleased to see that the library is saved when I turn the amp off/on, but the sorting problem on the Windows app is still there.
P.S. Since I'm here, wouldn't it be nice if the Volume control in the app reacts to the mouse scroll wheel? It would be more natural to control the volume this way.

Got the 3.8.2 update this morning. I'm glad to report that the controller app no longer hangs when sorting albums by Artist, release-date but it still forgets the sorting method whenever I leave the Album view for whatever reason and come back.

I just downloaded the 3.8.2 update and can confirm that the issue is fixed on the Mac as well, with all sort options working perfectly. Thanks to all involved for the fix.
I agree with Igor that it'd be nice if the app would default to the last used sort method on launch, but that's more of a feature request than a bug I guess.
Regards
