The Vault is a disaster!
I have tried for almost 4 years to love the Vault, I have asked for technical support, I have argued with my wife on multiple occasions when she wanted to get rid of it but I have reached the last straw.
Since I brought the Vault home is has not acted as advertised. Ripping CD's has always been a lesson in frustration. Some CD's would not load at all, some would load but only a portion of the songs and sometimes I had to reboot the whole system after every CD.
The grouping of multiple speakers would occasionally just not work or disappear and you would have to re add them, assume the system could find them, which wasn't always.
The software interface, although not as bad as it was when I first got it is still not user friendly. This is software written by geeks for geeks not for the average user.
The last straw has been the latest software upgrade, now the Vault has mind of its own. Songs just start randomly playing out of no where, some times they stop playing only to restart up again a minute or two later. The interface is not working at all. When you hit the stop button the music continues to play. I have had to pull the electrical cord twice now just to get the unit to stop playing.
I am done. For the cost of this system it should have worked much, much better than this. The concept for the Vault is brillant, the execution is a disaster.
I will be looking for a new wireless system starting today.

Hello Paul,
I'm sorry to hear you have had such a difficult time with your Vault. I can see that your last support request was simply asking for some clarification regarding shuffling in the BluOS app. Your request before that was from 2016 and there have been quite a few changes to the Vault's firmware since that time.If you would like us to help you further with these issues you are experiencing with your Vault, please do not hesitate to reach out to our support crew directly either by emailing us as support@bluesound.com or by sending a support request to us through the BluOS app by going to Help > Send Support Request.
I understand your frustration, but we are always happy to help. Please reach out to us at your earliest convenience and we will do what we can to sort out these issues you are experiencing with your Vault.
Regards,

Paul,
I'm with you, my vault has been nothing but a nightmare, I've had a CD in the vault for over a week now and you can't access the controller because the light is RED, always red, always red...
Especially this week, my 5 CD changer is getting a lot of play. If you find something else please post, I'm sure there are a few of us that want to bury this thing in the backyard.

Hi Paul
If your LED is red, your player cannot complete a firmware update. Please unplug it for 10 seconds and then plug it back in. If problems persists, please e-mail us at support@bluesound.com and we will be happy to help troubleshoot.

Tony,
that was not me who had the red light on the Vault, that was Kjshugrue (see above) who was responding to my complaint about the Vault saying they were having problems as well.
I have submitted an email to the support group but have not heard back yet, but to be fair that was only on Friday.
I will look forward to hearing from the Support group as maybe the unit will work better for the next owner of it.
Paul

Sometimes devices designed to do more than one thing well end up doing all things less well.
I prefer the flexibility of ripping using a USB DVD drive connected to a PC (iMac in my case). I use XLD as the ripping software which is good at finding accurate metadata and Yate for refining the metadata and album art. This approach does involve more user involvement but is rewarded by good results.

Sad but true. I have had two Vault 1s fail shortly after the warranties expired. The only help i got from BlueSound was an offer to sell me a third at a discount. I would love to her from others whose Vault 1 was a major disappointment.
