    Hello Jeremy,

The RC1 is a simple IR remote and will require a direct line of sight to be used with your Bluesound players. If your players are located in different rooms, you will need to move between rooms with the RC1 to control each of these players. For centralized control over all your Bluesound players, the best option would be to continue to use the BluOS Controller app on your smartphone or tablet.

    Hello,

I am trying to use the RC1 with an IR remote extender (Keene electronics) and ceiling mounted receivers then outputting to a NAD Ci580 on the 3.5mm ir input. It does not work. The Ci580 has no ir sensor as its a custom install item, it just has an ir input on the rear. meaning i cant test the RC1 direct. I have set up the zone to match on both app and remote to no avail. Support have very thoughtfully referred me to the manual after a 3 week delay, oddly i had thought of that already. On testing the ir learning function 'ticks' appear when i send a command so something is working. Annoyingly a zone i dont want to use ir has worked once prior to full set up but not now. I have tried resetting to factory defaults and reboots.

I only want the remote for mute/volume control as the phone/tablet is a bit slow if the doorbell rings or phone goes off. The Bluos pro line includes a network connected simple remote but its costly and not readily available to consumers.

    Hi Jeremy

I see you have an open request on this. Please keep working with Jade L. at NAD Support on this as I see he is speaking with QA about it. Thanks

    Hi Tony,

Another 3 months have passed (as you note a support request was active when i first commented) and it has only emerged in the last 7 days that the Ci580 does not support IR remotes in all 4 zones, just the primary zone.

As a result all the effort and expense in running IR extenders and ceiling mounted receivers is partly wasted (at least 1 zone now works) and i wonder why this limitation was not clarified when i began the support query?

Additionally Roon does not work either through the Roon control in BLUOS or Roon direct. Jade has been helpful in assisting with this but it is still not working. Interestingly i have a Node 2 and a C658 too and they work ok with roon. Tidal works fine on all by the way.

Is your RC1 capable of the  5 or 10 seconds skip forward/backward functionality?

    Or even a fluent FF,FR (<<,>>) fast forward/rewind movement within a track?

No - you cannot adjust the queue point using the RC1

I'm having trouble finding information on configuring the NAD CI 580 for use with the RC1. Can I use an IR Repeater like this and a terminal block adapter?
