Index for USB attached drive

Can index be moved to the USB drive with ability to keep existing index or rebuild so when using multiple drives (I separate by genre) index does not have to be rebuilt when drive changes. I store in FLAC and have a smaller drive with Christmas, country, and classical music and 3 larger 4tb drives for rock, jazz, and metal

  USB indexes are dynamic and not stored long term because you can easily remove and change the USB Drive. Here's how they differ; https://support.bluos.net/hc/en-us/articles/360000465747

  For a long term proper index, consider plugging the USB drive into your network router and have it more readily available across your whole network.
