Playlist song delete function
AnsweredHi, I have just purchased a streaming amplifer and after only a few hours of using BluOS I was faced with the same problem: There is no delete function in the dropdown menu! The temporary solution offered by Bluesound (through the „Play Queue“) is not a userfriendly way to edit a playlist and is furthermore adding further problems. For example, editing a playlist saved in the Qobuz folder through the play queue as suggested indeed creates a new playlist but rather than overwriting the old playlist, the edited playlist is saved as a new playlist in the BluOS folder. The old playlist still remains in the Qobuz folder and there is no way to delete it in BluOS. After a few hours of frustration I came up with the idea of installing the Qobuz App and deleting the playlist there. The Qubuz App like Spotify an other providers of course offer a simple delete function for playlists.
Anyhow, I’m very disappointed to see that this issue has been discussed in the community for at least three years now but apparently no one from Bluesound has seriously bothered to solve this ridiculous problem by simply adding a delete function to the dropdown menu. Whoever from Bluesound is reading this message, please motivate your programmers to invest a few hours of their time and add a few lines of code to the software. I’m sure your customers will appreciate it!
Many tanks in advance and greetings from Austria,

Hi Ewald
Thanks for the feedback.
In the example you are suggesting, this is really a limitation of the Qobuz API. The playlist you have suggested originates on Qobuz and is being pulled from there. If you edit and resave that list, the limitation is we cannot write back to Qobuz's servers, thus the creation of a new duplicate playlist. It's as much a Qobuz problem as a Bluesound one.
That being said, it has been passed along to our product development team and does remain a problem we are continuing to try and tackle.

Hi Ewald, don't hold your breath.
I have had my BlueSound for a few years now, and have yet to see *ANY* feature requests implemented in a new software release.
Hi-Fi is basically a hardware endeavour. Right? BlueSound is seemingly yet to come to grips with the idea that software development is an ongoing process. One that takes seriously the input from its users.

Agreed,
How is there not an option, even in the BLUOS section, to delete a song from a playlist??? Absolutely unbelievable from a basic software point of view. Good, or even just decent playlist options are essential in a streaming context.

I'd like to add my name to the list of folks requesting a 'delete a song from a BlueOS playlist' feature. It is very, very frustrating to not have this ability. I can't think of another player or control interface that I've come across in 20 years of playing with digital audio that did not have this functionality. Please add it!
Thank you kindly.

I can only say: Welcome back to the stone age of software programming! I've been waiting for a year now! There have been several software updates since then but none of them with any substantial improvements of the user interface. Not even a simple search function to quickly find an album in my favorites and/or playlists, for example.

Same here, it's very frustrating.
