A suggestion for the developers: check out what John Darko does at the 45 second mark, and throughout, this youtube:

Note that the Echo talks through its own speaker, and sends only the music to the music system. This could be setup through the Alexa app if only it would discover my BluOS device. So if you could just fix that one part of the Alexa skill, I think 95% of your Alexa voice control problems would be solved. Every single review says the skill is broken:

You don't need to work on and maintain that laundry list of "ask Blue Voice to..." commands because Alexa already has them. "Ask Blue Voice..." is unnecessary.

    Thanks for the feedback - not quite as simple as you have suggested as there are a number of limits to the API and to hardware.

    It has been passed along for future consideration though.

    I'd like to give James' post a +1.

    Could you perhaps go into more detail as to what and where those limitations lie?

    The Alexa baseline skills are improving all the time, and I don't think we're asking for anything beyond what the BluOS API already has in place (other than perhaps the Alexa.Discovery Interface, which isn't technically taxing).

    The Alexa/BluOS experience leaves a lot to be desired at the moment, and unfortunately it's easy to compare against other (subjectively inferior) products that provide a superior experience.

    The OP hits it on the nail, stop selling this Alexa integration as a feature. It doenst work and it is quite unintuitive. The severe lack of improvements and blatant ignoring of alexa skills reviews and feedback is extremely disappointing and quite scary as if this compaby stops innovating I dont see them surviving a very competitive market. And that speaks gllom for our Bluesound investment.
