Node 2i variable sampling frequency from Coax
Hey, just a bit curious about something, I have a Node 2i connected to an audiolab M-DAC, and said DAC always reports a sampling frequency that's slightly lower than standard while using the Node, like 44.098k, even when the Node is sitting idle, not playing anything. Or 95.997k with MQA.
Even more curious is the fact that the displayed frequency is variable during playback, so it jumps from .098 to .099 all the time during playback, like in this video: https://photos.app.goo.gl/EGkD8GajTGTEVTGc6
Is this... normal? If yes, why? If no, also why? :D

Hello Wojtek,
From the video you provided it appears your external DAC is very specific rounding to 3 decimal points. This increased detail will show the small fluctuations either due to the content being played or the equipment and cables being used. It is difficult to say what the exact cause of this fluctuation could be but from what I have seen with other equipment in the past, this is not unusual behavior.Regards,
Wesley P.
