    Hi Johannes

Did you remember to disable the TV's own internal speakers? If you have and still have issues, please select Help, Send Support Request in the App so we can take a closer look.

    Hi Tony,

    Thanks for your fast response!

No, I have used the TV's internal speakers as "center speaker" together with my stereo speakers as left and right. Using my previous amp this was no problem using HDMI or optical. There was no lag or delay in the "external".

With the Powernode I get the echo as if the external speakers have a slight delay compared to the TV's internal speakers.

So my intention was to use the TV's internal speakers together with the external speakers. Are you with me? =)

Exactly as I expected... your idea won't work. The delay is just enough to create an echo but not enough to throw off Lip Sync. This is unfortunately normal with all external audio equipment and not just a limit of the TV and your POWERNODE.

You will have to disable the TV Speakers

Ok, I understand. But since it worked with my 22 y/o amp it might have been because it has less digital processing the modern amps or something like that?

I have only tried this with the old amp and the powernode so have no other references..

You DO understand. It is digital processing causing the delay...

    Hm, I understand!

I'm fine with using the external speakers without the internal TV-speaker. But I noticed that there is a slight lip-sync problem when using external speakers as well. I cant find any way to delay the TV-signal to fit this. There is an internal receiver in the TV with a program card.

Any idea on this? I feels like it would be a common problem having this setup.

I'm having a similar problem with my NAD C658 preamp/DAC. If I use it to listen to a video source, there would be a lip-sync issue, due to around 20ms digital delay. With the Desktop version of the bluos app, you can turn on av sync feature, which improves the problem, but cannot eliminate it completely, because all it does is lower the digital processing power, sacrificing sound quality (you wont notice the difference), and let you adjust the audio delay, which will only make the lip sync issue worse, because it adds audio delay, not video delay.

Finally, I gave up on this, and added an AV receiver to my setup. Now I'm feeding the front channels pre outs of my Denon AVR to the analog line in of the NAD C658, with "analog bypass" turned on, to avoid additional digital processing, and the lip sync issue is solved. Now I only use the C658 for pure hi-fi music listening, and I use my Denon AVR for TV and movies in a 5.1 setup (I have external power amps connected to the C658). This is the only way you can truly enjoy both worlds... An alternative is to use some external video source which can do AV sync by adjusting both audio and video delays.

Finally someone with the same experience! I'm amazed that no more people get this problem when connected to a TV.

I too have a serious lip sync problem with A/V-sync off. With A/V-sync turned on it gets a little bit better. But still a problem. The minimum value is 50 ms in the app and think it needs to be under 20ms to be not noticable. With my old Technics receiver the TV sounded just as fine and it had no delay at all using optical cable.

I'm considering returning the Bluesound Powernode 2i since no solution is found here and I got no help from the retailer either. I will check the Denon out and my friend told me about a Marantz that seems interesting.

    Thanks for sharing this!!

@Eli - You now have the right tools for the right job as I just walked a consumer through a very similar setup and recommendation using a C658 and a T787. He had the additional issue that the T787 was not enough amplifier for the C658 but that's another story.

@Johannes - If you are not grouping the POWERNODE with other players, the lip-sync issue is significantly closer to the 20ms Dolby Requires as it is identical to the SOUNDBAR which is DOLBY Certified. Basic physics of digital processing and network bandwidth transmission has 50ms on the threshold of packets not arriving in time causing silence or worse digital noise on the secondary players. In our testing, our delay is actually the lowest in the industry with other wireless home theatre or multiroom systems when synched with video.

    Thanks

BTW, the lip-sync/latency of the C658 is worse than other bluos players, because besides the inherited default 20ms latency, once Dirac Live filters are loaded into the C658, there would be an additional 17ms latency added by Dirac, so the latency reaches 40ms for digital source and about 50ms for analog source. Because My Denon AVR cannot compensate for channel to channel delays above 20ms, I must switch analog bypass to on, otherwise, Audyssey auto calibration will fail to set speaker distances correctly. I really wanted to add Dirac live processing on top of Audyssey for the front channels, but it will only be possible if I'll upgrade my AVR to a higher-end model that is designed for much larger listening rooms.

I have the same problem. LG c9 + Bluesound node 2i. Uses optical cable from TV to node and delays when watching YouTube or movies. Will be returning next week.

Did you try switching the AV-sync switch in the app? My lag is lower when this is turned on with lowest setting. The sync issue without this function on is very bad.

I did not return it, but I aim using it for music instead of TV-related stuff until they maybe improve this in the software or in the app. At least I hope so..
