    Hi Ricus

Please use the Tone Controls in your NAD C388 to accomplish this. If you need assistance, please contact our good friends at support@nadelectronics.com

    Hi there,

Could you please be transparent about why an EQ tool hasn't been implemented yet? I understand that software implementation can seem trivial for the end-user while it is sometimes tedious for the engineer. As far as I understand it's not possible to have a standalone software EQ on your computer to modify the sound from a Bluesound product because it's streaming. I'd have to buy a hardware EQ and put it between the Bluesound DAC and my amp do achieve this? would be so much simpler to be able to use a room correction filter and input the data in BluOS right?

    cheers

    Yannick

    Hi Yannick

I believe you answered your own question. It is also about the cost of options to license third party EQ software. If EQ is important to you, perhaps you should consider the NAD C658 from our good friends at NAD Electronics. This offers all the options of the NODE along with more inputs and the award-winning DIRAC Room Correction built-in.

+1 to everyone, an equalizer is a must have feature.

I'd be awesome if you could implement it

    Hi,

Supporting this. More/better EQ options would be highly (highly) appreciated by the vast majority of Bluesound users who have selected Bluesound gears for the Hi-fi/Better than Sonos approach.

Hoping it should be doable at a relatively limited cost and will be considered at some point

    Hi,

I've had two Powernode amps for several years now, and I love them....mostly.

Every once in a while I connect using bluetooth and use the Spotify EQ to tweak a song and find that, sometimes, it sounds better! It's super frustrating not to be able to tweak songs at all. On my systems it makes a huge difference. This is a request to please add one! It will much MUCH appreciated.

On another note, If anyone knows of an add-on device I could buy for less than $100 that would allow me to use EQ with the Bluesound powernode, please let me know.

    Many thanks!

    Hi Dan,

Definitely supporting this as many (many) other Bluesound users. For best or worth, room is what has the most impact on sound quality by far and proper EQ options is so much more important than any other amp spec that it is insane how much we pay for high-end electronics with no or so little sound management options.

Countless posts asking for this in several threads that have been most largely ignored for years but Matt (product manager) said they might discuss the opportunity of maybe doing something on that front few months ago (no news of any kind from Bluesound since his 2 short messages). My guess is they don't know if they will do anything on this and that implementation won't start anytime soon but who knows.

Lenbrook/Bluesound had no incentive to move on that front until recently as they might prefer point you to their NAD (much) much more pricey Dirac-enabled alternatives (Sonos not offering EQ on its amp, only on its speakers which is already a killer-feature among others vs. Bluesound).

In the meantime you can take a look at the WiiM product range. Versatile streamers with powerful EQ and even PEQ options you can interface with your amp, highly rated on specialized forums such as ASR, better connectivity options than Bluesound for more than twice less money, super reactive community management, Room Correction announced to be coming soon for free... Real no brainer to most I guess. Powernode has still best build quality, classy touch-screen and great Wifi connectivity but those are not Hifi qualities.

One can even consider selling his/her Powernode as it still has (some) resell value and switch to WiiM's new amp options if it is any good (I don't know).

Other (much less user friendly) alternative to get EQ and much more can be found at miniDSP.

    All the best!

Eagerly waiting for the WiiM Ultra (which will have a display) to come out in Q2 :)

    Hi Bodi,

Yep WiiM is moving fast. Haven't identified any feedback on how good is Wifi connectivity of their device in poor network conditions (key for me and Bluesound is excellent on that front from my experience) but if they are good on that point will definitely consider to switch.

    Take care,

    Hi,

Just a quick feedback on the WiiM Amp: did purchased one to replace my Powernode and tested it today. Build quality as good as Bluesound (binding posts are even better),incredible value package (they even provide high quality HDMI, RCA and toslink cables) but extremely poor WiFi connectivity in my busy environment.

Amp was unable to connect to 5 Ghz and connection to 2.4 Ghz was so poor the unit was not usable where my Powernode has never failed.

Sending the WiiM Amp back and still hoping Bluesound will bring at least some decent EQ to the package one day or another.
