    Hi Ian

If your wife's account works but yours does not - that's a Spotify issue. Please contact them regarding your account status.

This 100% is not a spotify issue.  There are loads of people reporting this in the last few days.  Get your act together.

I have uninstalled bluesound app and spotify app and reinstalled and it won't connect.

    Hi Thomas

When was the last time you restarted your router?

    • Please power down your players and any other network-attached devices. (Laptops, tablets and smartphones you can simply put in Airplane Mode).
    • Unplug your router for 30 seconds then plug it back in
    • Wait 5 minutes
    • Start powering up all your Players and network devices.
    • Reconnect your tablets and laptops
    • Relaunch the app

This will reset your network router's cached addresses. Setting a DHCP reservation for devices will help.

i contacted spotify and although they couldn't see a problem i just set up a new premium account (free family plan for 3 months) and it worked again. i moved my wife over to the new plan and downgraded the previous one to free, spotify say they will move my saved albums over for me.

so not only does it work again, i saved £45 in premium fees for the next 3 months.

I was having the same problem as Tom. Over the last week or so when I played Spotify on my iPhone X and tried to select my group of BluOS players it just kept saying “connecting” forever and wouldn’t work. I tried the steps Tony gave to Stephen in a similar post, however then that phone wouldn’t even see the Bluos as an available wifi speaker within Spotify. Yet I could still use BluOS within the BluOS app on that phone  and by using TuneIn etc and if I play Spotify on another of my devices and can then pause / play it from the iPhone X.

I ended up deleting both apps and reinstalled them and now it works, but only after hours of shutting down routers, devices, BluOS players etc etc.

Pretty frustrating how you spend many thousands on so called top of the range gear, but every few months it just seems to get a headache and stop working until you press a few buttons, turn it off and on, etc.

Also very odd the number of posts about this Spotify / BluOS since issue in the last week or so? What has changed??

    Hi Terry

Nothing has changed at our end - we have been reaching out to Spotify to see if anything has changed at their end. That being said, we have seen as more smart devices enter your home, more networking equipment is getting bogged down and causing interference and traffic. Read your home networking equipment documentation to ensure it is configured properly and allowing for Zero Configuration (also called mDNS, Multicast or Avahi) transmissions to flow...

    As an update:

I created a new spotify account, it worked fine and now that one has stopped working too.

I have a suspicion it is because, both times, i tried connecting to the node 2 in the devices list while i was not on my wifi. After i realised it wasn't connecting as i was not on the network i joined the network and the original problem started again.

If i now go back to my old spotify account that caused all this bother, it is able to connect again - the new one has been cut off for 2 days though.

If you go to the section on Bluesound where you add music service accounts, go to the Spotify option, you can logout of the old logged in account and then any Spotify account can use it, but that one will login and lock to that account until its logged out.
When we first got the Bluesound either one of us could send Spotify to it using our separate accounts but now it seems to link to one account and the only way round it is keep going into the settings and logging the other account out first. I hope that makes sense, give it a try and let me know.

That's not the issue I am having, I can see my wife's account logged in after she uses it and I can see my account logged in after I fail to establish a connection. Logging whoever out doesn't help either.

My phone and tablet and macbook all seem to be seeing the node, connecting to it to log me in, then booting me off so that I can't actually stream the music.
