Does indexing auto-change metadata?
AnsweredHey there,
my music library is on a pc and the metadata has been tediously tagged with jriver. (A lot of work actually)
pointing the node2i to the same folder for streaming will the indexing process change any of the metadata? (like auto-change / auto-tagging / the way i-tunes does if option is not deactivated)
I want the metadata to be untouched... music library is used for other devices as well.
I would otherwise just copy the music folder and point the node to the duplicate.. but that would mean working in duplicates all the time.
thanks

Hi Christoforos C
We actually do get some push back that we DON'T touch the metadata at all - all BluOS shares are connected as Read-Only so even if we wanted to, we couldn't. It's your data so why should we alter it?

Thx for the quick response,
well,
in my case I like read only, keep it that way, auto-tagging just messes things up, simply because there is NO !! database/ mediaplayer software out there that gets all tags right as soon as you own some music that is not the mainstream stuff
