    Hi Oleg

Unfortunately - there is nothing wrong with your setup. Currently, Amazon Music is only available in the United States, United Kingdom, Germany, France, Italy, Spain and Japan.

Please contact Amazon about availability in your area in the future.

    @Tony W

According to Amazon official information the service is available in Canada.

see here, the list of countries is long and I don’t understand you insist it’s Amazon issue.

i don’t know where you get your information but I am an Amazon Canada subscriber and can use services on my iOS devices and PC using my Amazon Canada prime log in , as I mentioned above.

please let me know how I can use amazon music on BluOS..

    thank you,

    Hi Oleg

Not for third party devices... full disclosure... our corporate headquarters is in Pickering, Ontario just outside of Toronto (#WeTheNorth). Amazon Music availability in Canada is very near and dear to our hearts.

    Hi Tony W

    thank you for clarifications.

    #WeTheChamps

I’m fully aware where you headquarters are and I cycle all around Pickering every summer..

The way I interpret your answer is that the APIs Amazon makes available for device manufacturers such as yourselves don’t support Canada region just yet therefore your BluOS throws this “region not available” error.

When you say availability is “near” what are we talking about? Weeks, months, quarters, years?

thank you for being patient with me.

    regards

    Oleg

    Correct assumption Oleg

But by near - I mean "near to our hearts" as it's a problem our staff complains about in their personal use so we are lobbying Amazon to increase their reach, unfortunately it is a music rights distribution issue between Amazon and the labels - leaving us as lobbyists in the matter (i.e. business issue not technical issue).

Let Amazon know and we will continue to pressure them from the top down and ask you be a consumer asking from the bottom up on this matter.

    Thanks for understanding

Cyclist eh? I know a few of those...

    Thank you again Tony..

im still puzzled why I can use amazon music (in Canada using my Amazon Canada login and my Prime subscription) and beam it on my iPad to my speaker using AirAplay and cannot do the same from BluOS ?

from the business point of you I am a subscriber and user of amazon music service in Canada, which is according to amazon website is available in Canada . My experience is a proof of that..,

I fail to see any underlying business subtext here in the unavailability of the same service via a different channel [third party device via an API)

the fact that I can’t access the same service via the API appears  more like a technical problem to me.

So even if I try to “lobby” amazon by a business channel I don’t think I am going to go too far since I already can access the service ..

and since I’m not a device manufacturer myself I don’t know how explain to them your technical problem in business terms.

so it looks I’m stuck for the time being, will be using my other devices . For example by PC connected to my kef ls50 wireless speakers over the USB streams amazon music beautifully.

ditto my iPad to my airplay speaker..

not the same for my two BluOS devices. They will be collecting dust and from time to time I’ll turn then on to see if the service becomes available...

    good luck with amazon!

    Hi Oleg

If you have Bluesound 2i Players you can Airplay to those.

When you use AirPlay or Bluetooth, the music is being played in the Amazon App on your smartphone or tablet, the audio is then being relayed by that handheld device to Blueosund (or other AirPlay or Bluetooth Speakers). You are limited to lossy up to 320Kbps output this way.

Deep integration such as TIDAL or Amazon (in the previous stated markets), the Audio does not go through the App. Everything happens in Bluesound and the App is no more than a TV remote for it. As a result in TIDALs case (here) or Amazon (in US, UK...) you are not limited to lossy content which is the upper limit of your iOS device but can play 24 bit Hi-Res music.

    To summarise;

Your Bluetooth Speaker is just relaying the Phone which is doing all the work, while in our App the Phone does no work and the Player does all the lifting.

Due to licensing issues with the Artists, Amazon has yet to expand to allowing anything but their App to play the music.

Tony... I'm in the Netherlands at the moment.... My powernode will link to amazon music, but the interface is terrible....so I've been trying to use the amazon music app and connect to the powernode... .but the app won't discover it, it will only let me airplay which, for obvious reasons, I don't want to do. Any advice? Thanks.

PS... it appears even using the powernode's connection to amazon it's not playing HD music, rendering my amazon music subscription useless. Am I missing something?

PPS... unless the desktop app isn't indicating whether it's HD or not... but that would be weird because it definitely indicates quobuz plays HD. With Amazon music I don't get an HD or CD icon. And yes I have the proper Amazon account.... just upgraded today but I think that may have been a mistake?

    Hi Laurence

Let Amazon know how difficult the API is to work with - it is something we have already been discussing with them but as their consumer, it will come with more weight coming from you.
