What's weird is the iOS App was supposed to update too - from current 3.4.4. to 3.6.0 iirc

But there's no update on the Apple app store site.

Do the Bluesound people check this board?  Maybe we should both put in a support request.

3.6.2 popped up last night for an update. But when I tried to update, nothing happened.

This morning, 3.6.3 popped up and I was able to upgrade successfully.

However the Google Assistant feature doesn't work.

    Hello all

Thank you for your patience. We have been working on this for most of today and have confirmation from Google the outage is on their end. They are aware of the issue and trying to restore service as quickly as possible and hope to notify us once service is restored.

You may notice yourselves though once it is as it will then just work.

We do apologise and thank you for your patience.

    Hi all,

Bluesound got back to me personally - thank you! - and scheduled a call with me later today hoping to resolve the problem by getting access to it online.

But in the meantime, to see if it made a difference I unplugged the router and the unit overnight, and upon re-connection this morning I got a pop-up notice that the upgrade 3.6.3 was available.  It installed in a few minutes.

    thanks again,

    Ian

    Hello!

I was also greeted with an upgrade today. Not sure about the version but taking everything into account it was probably 3.6.3. I also received a warning saying that the upgrade might take up to 30 minutes... It has been about an hour by now and all I see are red lights. Not good, I assume?

I could try cutting the power at some point, in case the actual upgrade has been completed. However, should the device still be doing something, cutting the power would most likely brick it, which is why it probably doesn't hurt to wait a bit longer. Just in case.

What troubles me is that it seems likely that the device is bricked anyway by now, for whatever reason. Should this be the case, I am in a pickle. I bought it online from abroad, so using the warranty will be tricky to say the least.

Any advice as for next steps is welcome.

A power outage will not brick your player. In fact, it is one of the first things our Support Crew does to ensure your player is acquiring a proper IP address from the router.

That being said; NEVER factory reset a wirelessly attached player stuck in upgrade mode otherwise you will erase the WiFi credentials. They only way to recover it then is to run a LAN cable to it.

I thought it might if it happened in the middle of an upgrade. Anyway, I'm glad to report that cutting the power did indeed do the trick. Thanks for the encouragement & explanation.
