BlueSound Vault 2i - Re-indexing
AnsweredHello. I have an issue where I have modified an artists Metatag via a ID3 editor successfully to correct album art or even , in some cases, the spelling of the artists name so that I don't have two results show up under library with slight differences in the artist's name. After making these changes renaming the Artists name , for example De-vision to De/vision , the Blue OS still shows two different artist names under library that continue to match the pre-edited artists names in my example. This happens, despite choosing "re-index music collection" and waiting for the process to complete.
I have looked through many posts regarding similar issues. They mention having to delete the index and let if re-create, however , this is the only option I have in the latest BlueOS software release. Is there a manual deletion and rebuild process? I am more than happy to SSH or break out into a command line style method if necessary. It may even be possible via SMB and Windows, however, I don't see any index file even with hidden files in the view selection enable.
My ultimate goal is to be able to use an ID3 editor for any changes necessary, save those changes, re-index the Vault 2i and have them sort, display and be organized correctly. Thanks in advance for assistance.

Hello Nick,
The option to delete and rebuild your current index is located by going to Help > Diagnostics > Rebuild Index. This will take a while longer than a standard re-index but will also ensure the index reads any update metadata. If a rebuild does not help to resolve this issue, please contact our support crew directly at support@bluesound.com to investigate this further for you and help find a solution for you as soon as possible.

Wesley P.
