Volume control with external DAC?

I have a Node2i that I really enjoy. I'm planning on upgrading to an external DAC. (Jolida) I have searched all over but cannot find the answer to my question: 

If I use an external DAC, will I lose the ability to control the volume via the iOS app? (3.4.4)

  Hello E. Guzman,

  When connecting a Node 2i to an external DAC you will still be able to control the Node 2i's volume through the BluOS app. However if your external DAC has its own independent volume slider keep in mind that any changes in the volume through the BluOS app will still be effected by the DAC. For example if your Node 2i is at full volume but the external DAC is only at half volume, you will only be getting half the total volume from your system.
