We continue to speak with Google about Chromecast. Currently Google has not made it possible to add just the Google Chromecast for Audio (GC4A) functionality without full deep Google Assistant also being in place. As the current Bluesound Player lineup does not include microphones, this is simply not possible. Keep in mind this also may affect our ability to Support Amazon Alexa as well. We do try to be open to as many services as possible. If in the future Google decides to separates these two items, as was the previous model, we can then revisit this issue.

    Hello Alex,

Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback.

We have received similar requests from other users to support Chromecast within the Bluesound lineup and this feedback has been forwarded to our Quality Assurance team for their consideration. I will pass your feedback along as well to show there is still demand for this feature in hopes that we can bring this to the BluOS app in a future firmware update.

    Regards,
    Wesley P.

Would love to see this too.

With Apple you can use AirPlay 2, but with Android you only can use Bluetooth. It would be great if Anroid users could use BluOS the same way like Apple users.

Btw. I work for a system integrator company, also trying to place BluOS systems in customer projects. There I got asked many times for such a feature.

I agree, Chromecast support would be a great feature.

    Yes please, add me too.

Indeed, I’m pretty invested in your product line and consider buying another device, but won’t do before I know if there will be chromecast support.

Yes, same for me, I would also buy another Powernode 2i if it had Chromecast.

You should really prioritize this! Not being able to use my favorite podcast app on my bluesound speakers is a serious annoyance.

Add me to this request.  I would gladly eliminate the rest of my sonos gear if Bluesound added Chromecast support.

    Hi, same problem here...
I just bought a node2i and am confused, why you cant use the original apps like tidal for streaming to bluesound.

    Please add the chromecast feature.

    Hi,
It would definitly be a great feature! Count my vote in for this one!

I would very much like to add my vote to this request. I own the Nad M10, like it quite a bit and am considering other bluesound devices. But for me the lack of Chromecast is a serious deficiency. It would really be great if it could be added

Just bought an M10 too, was considering purchasing Bluos devices for the whole house, but the lack of Chromecast support is a killer.

My fault, not beeing informed probably before buying. Now I've found out that Chromecast built in is not available for my new Node 2i :-(

    Considering sending the device back...

StefanSimon I am sorry to hear about your dilemma. This is exactly what happened to me. Had I known that the NAD M10 did not have chromecast I would not have purchased it. I like the Nad but will definitely not be purchasing additional Bluesound units until Chromecast is accommodated

Big disappointment for me, too. The C 658 would be perfect for me, but no Chromecast is a deal breaker. Please let us know if/when this will be added! Thanks

The thread becomes longer and longer.

@wesley, can you please add some info to this? Is there a chance with the present devices or can‘t it happen because of the hardware?

    I've send the Node back.
Besides the missing Chromecast, the input quality is also missing (especially over Toslink).

Since Chromecast does 24 Bit AND streams directly from the cloud, I'm a huge fan, so PLUS 1!

It would be great with chromecast ! Plus 1

I must admit I find it sad that Nad is not providing an update or response after all these comments. We have purchased their equipment and would potentially like to purchase more but as of now we do not know whether the lack of Chromecast is a hardware issue or whether can be addressed via software. Nor do we know if there is any plan to provide this feature at some future time. Very sad indeed....

    Hi,

I was at the traidfare Integrated Systems Europe and talked to Bluesound guys about that missing feature.

I am not shure why it is not told here, but I believe this puts Bluesound in a better light and describes why this feature is missing and if all stays like it is, will never happen.

Google doesn‘t allow Chromecast when devices also support AirPlay and internal streaming. So this seems to make it impossible to get chromecast to BluOS.

I know more and more TVs get direct AirPlay and support also Chromecast (SONY, LG and Samsung). Not shure how they handle it with Google but first there was Chromecast and second was AirPlay. Maybe that would be a discussion starter for Bluesound with Google.

This explanation is not very convincing, since older devices (those without "i") didn't support AirPlay and yet there was no Chromecast support either.

But you can use streaming services directly on them and that seems to be a no go too...

@Stefan the Cambridge Audio CXN V2 streamer has both Chromecast and Airplay. So the explanation does not seem complete. I wish Nad would provide a formal answer in this forum

I have 9 bluesound units for sale. I will sell them cheap. I can't stand the support and the lack of information to customers. Lack of chromecast is a deal breaker. The respons that you can't have both airplay 2 and chromecast is not true. Several other devices have it. I belive it is all about the data. Bluesound doesn't want to let Google own you as a customer. They want you to use their app.

What's wrong with that Martin? Music first, not phone integration ;-)

There are now plenty of devices that support both Airplay and Chromecast. See Naim as examples. The reason why I will also sell my Powernode is simply because I do not longer even want to open an app to listen to music, it's for me a nonsense (it's too cumbersome). Google Home voice commands are what I use with my Naim systems (ok Google play xxx on yyy).

I see, didn't recognize that there several devices on the market which can handle it.

It was something that sounded pretty possible to me :)

I really want this please - Bluetooth struggles for me, whereas Chromecast works everywhere inside and out at home. Please add Chromecast support
