    Response from BBC below:

    Dear  Audience Member

Thanks for contacting BBC Sounds support about not being able to recieve BBC stations on your device via TuneIn.

We have investigated this and been in touch with TuneIn. They let us know this was an issue on they side and have since fixed the issue.

If you should have any future issues with TuneIn, please contact them directly, since we do not provide support for TuneIn and support is the responsibility of the 3rd party.

    Kind regards,

I received the exact same reply as Andy.  Good to know that it is not BBC tactics, and more confirmation of ongoing TuneIn incompetence or disinterest.  Bluesound would do very well to offer an alternative to their service for European customers, at least.

Would have been nice if the beeb had also answered a direct question I asked them as to whether Sonos have special treatment in terms of BBC Sounds integration.

Are there any other brands that actually have it officially, embedded in their app?  Maybe Sonos paid for it to be exclusive, or the BBC did it and then regretted it so won't offer it to others.  They really should just have an API for it.  It could still require a user to log in so they can track listeners if they must, and manage them based on location etc. just as Deezer, Tidal etc. do.

I had the same reply as Andy. I asked if I could have an email address at TuneIn should (when) it happen again. If I get one I’ll post it here.

It’s encouraging that the problem appears unintentional.

Interesting - I wonder if Tunein are simply doing the equivalent of assigning BBC url to the channel in their system? But if BBC update them and Tunein miss the email the streams go down?

I think full BBC sounds app integration on BluOS is a pigs flying type aspiration, it would be too expensive to develop to be worth it... and I doubt BBC would want to do "play it in our app but send to Bluesound" in the same way Spotify does...

The integration of BBC Sounds in BluOS ist at the moment (since July 2025) no more an option for all BBC listener outside the UK. It had been a option for listener worldwide all the years before BBC decided to lock out the people outside UK. The Sounds App is no more available in the appstores outside uk and existing apps don't play.

I asked the BBC if they had a contact email for TuneIn. Despite someone at the BBC being able to contact them they replied saying they didn’t have one but it should be available on the internet.

This is it if anyone wants to contact them. support@tunein.com

Following on from Joe S comment about official sounds integration on other devices (other than sonos). My LG tv has it.

As well as streaming i use my node for stereo tv audio.

So I can get bbc radio content via sounds but I have to have my tv on as well as my node.

    Not ideal but it works.

Yes I can also access sounds on my Samsung tv. So what is the Bluesound problem?
