Subwoofer always outputting

I'll start a new thread since the one I posted this in is conisdered answered. Ill link that thread at the end for reference.
I am also getting unexpected subwoofer activity. I dont think this is a replication issue I think this is a programming decision issue based on what Im reading from other users. I was able to replicate every "issue" described in this thread by other users and I have a similar concern. Let me try and make this a modular case study.
1. I want to plug my node 2 into my Peachtree amp/dac combo with both Coax digital AND RCA.
Reason #1 The 2i does MQA the peachtree does not. Therefore when wanting to play MQA music I want the 2i to decode and other times I want the peachtree to decode. This seems to be working fine except for the subwoofer out.
2. When I play using RCA out so that the 2i decodes everything seems to be fine. The sub is activated and my amp pushes the analog signal to the speakers as expected. (that said I have not done the frequency test the user above has done so I am not sure if <80hz is being filtered or doubled)
3. When I play using coaxial I have my first problem. Sub out is still sending signal to the subwoofer. The sound control on my amp has no effect on the sub out so no matter how loud or soft I play my amp, the sub remains a steady signal. If I lower the volume on the 2i all the volume is decreased. I would expect that only the sub volume would be affected by this since digital pass thru is supposed to be happening? But I also don't think any sub out signal should be happening at all when in digital pass thru mode.
The "with subwoofer" has no effect on anything in any scenario. If there's a sub plugged in its playing no matter what. That makes no sense.
Ultimately if you want to turn the subwoofer output off you have to unplug it or turn it off. This is very inconvenient. But even more alarming than that is that its passing subwoofer filtering to the sub even in digital mode? And worse yet its doing it at full volume no matter what you want to do with your amp volume wise.

Hi Alai
'With Subwoofer' turns on the 80hz crossover, 'No Subwoofer' Turns it off. The Subwoofer, and in fact all outputs are always 'hot'. This is by design.

I havent tested but Im going to take a guess that the RCA is always outputting as well even if digital is active? Thats fine since the sub can "turn this off" but all the more reason that the "No Subwoofer" should work.
