TV auto-sense interrupts playback
AnsweredI have a Sony TV connected via Optical to my Node 2i. While Autosense means the TV automatically kicks in when I switch in on, things aren't so great the other way round. When I start streaming music from the Node, Autosense kicks in automatically okay - BUT after a few second, TV takes over again, even if the TV is turned off. I have to manually switch restart the music. Is this a bug? It was fine when I used Autosense with my Xbox One, but the Sony TV is causing it problems.

Hi Ed
We have seen issues with SONY TVs and our Lab is looking into it. I generally disable auto sense and program my TV's power button to select Optical as a source in the SOUNDBAR. Here's how; https://support1.bluesound.com/hc/en-us/articles/206809498

Ah, that's actually working quite well as a workaround. Thanks, Tony. Look forward to a firmware fix in the future.

Just curious if the lab has come up with any update for this issue, or is the remote work-around is still the best option?

No update yet, Adam. The remote thing is a little unreliable too, as sometimes the Bluesound doesn't register the button if I aim the remote slightly off.

Hi Adam
Auto-sense will interrupt always - that's how it works... why the remote recommendation...
@Ed - that would depend on your remote and how old the batteries are...

Hi there, first post😉
I had the same issue with my Sony tv, seems to me this is a Sony - and not a BluOS-problem.
I solved it by using the optical out of my Ziggo Next decoder instead of the Sony tv.1 -
Hi,
Any updates on this? I like to use HDMI CEC to wake up the TV from PS4 or Apple TV and thus the remote option does not work for me.

Hi Miika
This is working fine on our end on both Optical and HDMI. If you are having issues, it is being caused by your TV still sending noise on the line. Please review your TV Documentation and Support. As mentioned, it does happen on some later SONY TV Models and we have seen updates and comments on it from SONY Support. Try using an optical cable and try a mid-range quality optical cable. You do not need to buy a $100 premium cable here but yet buy one that is well constructed.
